A Healthy Nation

Chokma!
We have had a great start to the year so far! By continuing to focus on working to meet our mission of enhancing the overall quality of life of Chickasaw people, we continue to make fantastic progress. One of our goals has always been to provide opportunities for a healthy nation. Already, we have broken ground and cut the ribbon on facilities that are all designed to improve the health of Chickasaw people.

Due to increased demand and more interest in fitness, we broke ground to begin construction on a new wellness center designed to engage the entire family in exercise and opportunities to get moving.

The new wellness center will be more than 25,000 square feet of space that includes aerobic and cardio spaces as well as many new features. We are utilizing state-of-the-art technology to make exercise fun and engaging for all. For a sneak peak, check out the video. Healthy lifestyles are for all ages so we will have a dedicated space for children’s exercise separate from the adult spaces.

To accommodate the continuous growth to the number of patients who utilize our medical facilities, we have broken ground to build a new pharmacy. The new, two-story pharmacy will have a corridor connecting it to the hospital. This facility will contain all of the features you would expect in a modern pharmacy, from a compounding room to a coagulation clinic. The expansion of services includes state-of-the-art pharmacy robotics, a pharmacy call center and a four lane prescription drive-thru. Pharmacy managed health clinics will also expand, including a planned hypertension, asthma and immunization clinic.

The health and wellness of the entire family is impacted when home is not a safe place. To help our families have a safe place to turn and begin anew, we opened the Violence Prevention Center. The Center offers comprehensive services to individuals affected by domestic violence. Those affected by domestic violence can receive counseling, help in career services and assistance with everyday needs. Families receiving services through the Violence Protection Center can enjoy greater access to integrated health and wellness services as geographic and other potential barriers have been removed.

Our team continues to work hard to have opportunities to meet all the health and wellness needs of all Chickasaw people. There has been much progress but still there is much to do. Governor Anoatubby continues to work hard for today and keep our eyes on tomorrow.
